God spoke to me about
John the Baptist was such an incredible chap. He had very little interaction with Jesus, yet had such an awesome view of Him. I wonder why God did not set him up as one of the 12. It could be that maybe very few would have the strength to do what John did and have the faith that he had. John (v. 30) said that Jesus must become greater while he, himself must diminish in importance.

Pride comes knocking on the door so often. John had the right view that focus must be on Jesus and human personalities need to get out of the way. I need to guard my own heart that pride and all its brothers are kept at bay as much as possible. I need to have the spirit of John … that He must become greater while I step aside from any limelight of my own making.
